Obviously, tariffs have been looming over the model train industry for the past couple months, and the situation is still mostly unclear. Almost every manufacturer has issued differing statements on how they will be responding to the tariff situation, but one thing is clear: prices WILL be increasing on nearly every item in the hobby -- with the exception of pre-owned equipment!

With the uncertainty of the situation in mind, there's a few things we want to cover:

• Prices will be increasing: It is forseeable that costs will rise even for companies that do all their manufacturing in the U.S. as raw materials get more expensive. We will attempt to notify you of any price increases in reservations as soon as we are made aware, but some companies have already been raising prices without alerting dealers. It can be difficult to know how prices have changed until the product is released, but we are committed to keeping you informed to the best of our knowledge.

• The discount you can rely on: We have always offered a discount of up to 25% off manufacturer's MSRP, and we will continue to do so. Regardless of how the MSRP may change due to tariffs, you can count on our discount for a good deal.

• Delays/Backorders: Several manufacturers have already ceased production/pre-orders temporarily, and more are pushing back product arrival dates hoping that the situation will change soon. We don't know when a manufacturer will release product until it physically arrives in our store- and we don't want to make promises about dates that we can't keep. Your best source for upcoming release dates will always be the manufacturer's website.

• Preowned/used items: If you're looking for tarriff-free product, check our pre-owned catalog. Every preowned item is inspected and test-ran before it ships to you and we add new products daily.
