Built in the early 1960s for the Atchison, Topeka &
Santa Fe, these general-purpose flat cars were serviced in
the early 1980s, and were often seen hauling aerospace components.
Featuring a cushioned underframe, they were well suited to
delicate handling of sensitive goods. Founded in 1859, Santa
Fe was one of the largest railroads in North America up until
1996, when it merged with Burlington Northern to form BNSF.
