This heavyweight depressed-center flat car with concrete column load is painted
brown with white Western Maryland
herald and white lettering. It was built
in October 1941, serviced in 1956 in Hagerstand, MD, and runs on
Commonwealth
trucks. This flat car has an AAR designation of FD; between 1938 and 1999 the
FD designation was
defined in the Official Railway Equipment Register as a
flat car of special construction having the portion of the floor
extending
between trucks depressed to provide necessary head room for certain commodities.
