This 50’ Flat Car with fishbelly sides, side mount brakewheel and covered machinery load is painted drab olive green with a USAX herald consisting of a ship’s wheel, with a winged car wheel on a rail inside a shield on its side and runs on black Bettendorf trucks. USAX was built in July, 1953 by Magor Car Company of New York. The Transportation Corps was established by the War Department in 1918, and has played a part in every major battle this country has ever entered. These cars were given the new DODX reporting marks in the mid sixties.
