This 30' box car, with single door is painted box car red with white lettering on sides and ends. It was built in the 1880s. Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Company was established in 1881 and ultimately hauled some $300 million in gold and silver from the San Juan Mountains of Colorado. Today, D&SNG is a registered national historic and civil engineering landmark, hauling passengers and freight through remote wilderness areas between Durango and Silverton.
