Pullman
equipment was operated on the Great Northern beginning in 1922,
when GN ceased its own sleeping car operation. The Pullman Heavyweight
Sleepers — ‘10-1-2’ (10 Section-1 Drawing Room-2
Compartment Sleepers) are “named” cars and
were built specifically for Oriental Limited service in 1923 and
lettered for such. In 1929, this ’10-1-2’ was re-lettered
for the
“EMPIRE BUILDER” with small “PULLMAN” lettering
in the upper left and right corners and named “HIDDEN LAKE”. |
