This 40’ standard box car with plug door and no roofwalk is car #24 of a 44-car series representing each of the presidents of the United States. It bears the portrait of our 29th president, Warren Harding. The car comes with a commemorative pin replicated from this era. Harding was an influential newspaper publisher before public service. As President, Harding rejected the League of Nations in foreign affairs; domestically he signed the first child welfare program in the U.S. and dealt with striking workers in the mining and railroad industries. He died in office in 1923.
