40’ standard box car with plug door and no roofwalk is car #8
of a 44-car series representing each of the presidents of the
United States. It bears the portrait of our eighth president,
Martin Van Buren. The car comes with a commemorative pin replicated
from that era. Van Buren was called the ‘Little Magician’ and
the ‘Red Fox of Kinderhook’ because he was a wily politician.
A political faction headed by Van Buren eventually became the
Democratic Party. |
