40’ standard box car with single Youngstown door and roofwalk
is painted aluminum with large orange feather emblem on the sides.
Lettering in the logo, as well as reporting marks and dim data,
is black. It was built in November 1951 by Pullman Standard and
runs on Bettendorf trucks. In 1951, WP ordered this 600 PS-1 box
car numbered in the series 20801- 21400; it appeared at that time
in WP’s standard paint scheme—plain box car red with silver reporting
marks square feather herald on the right side of the car. It was
sent back to Pullman Standard in 1953 to receive its compartmentizer,
re-numbered into series 19521-19542, and re-painted aluminum with
a new large orange feather emblems. |
