Prototype
Information:
The KiHa 25 series is a general-purpose diesel railcar introduced by
JR Central in 2010, based on the design of the 313 series EMUs. The
1000/1100 subseries, delivered in 2014, consists of 2-car sets with
a toilet-equipped 1000 series car and a non-toilet 1100 series car,
mainly serving the Takayama and Taita Lines. The 1500 subseries, also
introduced in 2014, operates on the Kisei and Sangu Lines and differs
by omitting rooftop equipment such as whistles and snowplows.
KATO is pleased to offer the KiHa 25 series 1000 and 1500 subseriesmodern
DMUs supporting local service across central Japan. These 2-car sets
can run individually or be coupled into 4-car formations. This release
features a new slotless motor for smoother, quieter operation and updated
car numbers. Perfect for adding realistic regional operations to your
layout.
