Prototype
Information:
PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI: PT KERETA COMMUTER INDONESIA) is
a subsidiary of the Indonesian Railway Company (KAI), partially owned
by the Indonesian government. THE KCI runs on a direct current electrified
line for the commuter service of just under 300 km in total length and
was formerly known as JABODETABEK in Jakarta. Since the 2000s, the trains
in operation are commuter trains transferred from Japan. Among them,
the 205 series has reached a total of 1,000 cars. Due to the variety
of configurations and the 12-car formations not seen in Japan, they
have gained popularity and attention from commuter train fans and 205
series fans. The trains were once famous for their bold red-and-yellow
front ends, but with the 75th anniversary of KAIs establishment
in 2020, the livery was updated to a new red-and-white design. The logo
on the front
was also redesigned and now operate under the new name KAI Commuter.
We are pleased to present the Indonesia Commuter Railway 205 Series,
a model of Japan's former trains reborn overseas. The impressive 12-car
formation, unique to their post-Japan operation, can now be recreated
in N scale. Because the body design remains mostly unchanged from their
time in Japan, they can be seamlessly displayed alongside other Japanese-style
models with no visual mismatch.
