Prototype
Information:
The iconic overnight express "Hakkoda" connected Ueno to Aomori
known for its long nose and elegant shape. First introduced in 1961,
it soon became one of the leading night trains to the Tohoku region
during the 1960s and 1970s. Departing Ueno Station at 7:00 p.m., it
offered smooth connections to the Seikan Ferry from Aomori, enabling
continued travel to Hokkaido. A favorite among backpacking youth known
as the Kani-zoku, it brought generations of travelers northward.
Now re-released with updated part numbers and separately molded roof
ventilators for enhanced realism! Pairs perfectly with the EF57, to
run the well-known "Hakkoda" Express service, released at
the same time!
