Prototype
Information:
The EF65-1000 series was designed for multiple-unit
(MU) operation in double-headed configuration and for operation in cold
regions, making it a versatile DC electric locomotive for flatland lines.
It could haul both passenger and freight cars from ordinary local services
to the Blue Trains, ranging from standard freight to high-speed cargo,
demonstrating a wide range of capabilities.
This locomotive was widely used across Japan and can be enjoyed in combination
with various passenger and freight cars from the same era. It pairs
particularly well with the simultaneously released KAT-5281, OHA 14
/ KAT-5283, SUHAFU 14 / KAT-5284, OHAFU (JNR versions).
