Information:
The RAe II is a dual-voltage electric train built for the Swiss
Federal Railways (SBB) and used exclusively for international services.
Introduced in the 1960s, it was operated as a first-class international
train under the name TEE (Trans Europ Express), serving
routes such as the Gotthard between Zurich and Milan.
Later, the trainsets were downgraded, modified, and repainted for EuroCity
service, which continued until around 1999. After retirement, the RAe
II was designated as a historic vehicle by the Swiss Federal Railways.
Around 2003, one set was partially refurbished, upgraded, and restored
to its original TEE appearance. It remains active today, operating as
a special event train.
This model replicates the refurbished version, featuring the iconic
red-and-cream TEE livery!
