| This 50’ composite, fixed end
gondola with straight sides is painted boxcar red with white lettering
and rides on black Bettendorf trucks. Soon after this car was built
in May of 1929, came the memorable crash of the stock market in
October of 1929. Used throughout the Great Depression era, this
car weathered difficult economic times with the Rock Island line
during the 30s and 40s. |
