This 40’ steel ice reefer has box car red roof and ends, with reefer yellow sides. It is lettered in black with the red and black logo of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific. 81104 bears the reporting mark for Union Refrigerator Transit Co. Built in June 1936 by the General American Transportation Corporation, this car combined light-weight and larger overall refrigeration efficiency, with expected lower maintenance costs and longer life than wood reefers.
