This 50’ standard box car with plug door and without roofwalk was built in December 1964 and serviced in August 1987. It is painted box car red with white stenciling on sides and ends. The 161,000 lb box car is equipped with Bettendorf trucks. In the late 1960s and early ’70s, when CN’s ‘wet noodle’ logo appeared, the road began stenciling their cars with French on one side and English on the other in order to accommodate the bi-lingual requirements of Quebec—CN’s home province. Canadian National was born on June 6, 1919 with the merger of Canadian Northern and the Canadian Government Railway.
