| This 50’ steel side, 15-panel gondola,
painted black with white logo and lettering, was built in July
1950 by Merchants Despatch Shops. It ran into the late 1980s on
black Bettendorf trucks. It was a member of series 9000-10499,
the largest group of gondolas in a predominantly gondola and hopper-oriented
railroad. P&LE 9000 (MTL #105580.1) comes loaded with a steel
wheel load and P&LE 9001 (MTL #105580.2) comes loaded with
a scrap steel load. |
