On our way back to Denver we stopped at Brush, CO and saw this wrecked SD40-2 on a QTTX flat car.

At Brush, CO was a QTTX flat car (like the one produced by Alan Curtis) with a wrecked SD40-2 (BNSF #7829). Besides a little bit of the pilot nothing was left below the frame. The fuel tank, trucks, everything had been removed.

Front blocking was probably made of 6"x6" wood.

Large steel rods (about the size of concrete rebar) were used to secure the engine to the flat. We counted fourteen of them.
