On our way back to Denver we stopped at Brush, CO and saw this wrecked SD40-2 on a QTTX flat car.

| At Brush, CO was a QTTX flat car (like the one produced by Alan Curtis) with a wrecked SD40-2 (BNSF #7829). Besides a little bit of the pilot nothing was left below the frame. The fuel tank, trucks, everything had been removed. |

Large steel rods (about the size of concrete rebar) were used to secure the engine to the flat. We counted fourteen of them.
