Sitting on the side of the road at the grade crossing at Crescent siding is some new equipment to be installed. Mostly a new concrete & rubber grade crossing (badly needed) and a Dragging Equipment detector. On the side of the detector box was written "between Plain & Crescent". Also, on the other side was about a dozen 20' lengths of rail with new insulators in the middle. click on picture for a larger view

This is the first of the Harmon Industries Dragging Equipment Detectors I have seen. The have more info on the GE/Harmon Industries web site. It is pretty substantial, mostly ¼" steel plate. Stenciled on the end is Harmon Industries Florida. click on picture for a larger view
