![]() As we were driving out to catch the Ski Train we heard on the scanner that a sun kink had developed 300 feet east of the east switch at Rocky Siding (shown above). A pair of track maintainers is to my right working on the roadbed. The Ski Train was held on the main at Rocky for about five minutes. He was then given a 10mph slow order to cross the sun kink as the maintainers watched. click on picture for a larger view |

![]() The Ski Train made up for any lost time as soon as it got past the sun kink. Normally after a train leaves Rocky going east you can easily catch it along Highway 72 before Leyden siding. Not this time. click on picture for a larger view |
