Water Street Freight Terminal
| Part #WAL-933-3201 |
$21.59 |
Freight
terminals were once essential to railroad operations, handling small,
less-thatn-carload (lcl) freight shipments. Loads arrived in box cars
or refrigerator cars and were transferred to to trucks for local delivery.
A typical freight house would be served by two or more parallel tracks.
Cars would be spotted side by side and metal bridge plates were positioned
between doors, so the car didn't have to be moved next to the building
to be unloaded.
This easy-to-build styrene kit is molded in appropriate colors and is
easily assembled using liquid plastic cement.
Approximate size: 11" x 3½"
