History of the Walley's Filling Station
This
little filling station is typical of many others that were erected during the
40's and 50's. It wasn't unusual to find three or four stations like Walley's
competing at one intersection. They were typically owned and operated by local
businessmen who would obtain a brand name franchise like Mobil, Standard, Texico,
etc. Our model is patterned after an existing service station off old highway
99. The structure is not used as a filling station today. It now houses a successful
muffler repair shop.
