Imagine
sitting along the tracks for years all by yourself. Watching the railroad and
its trains change year after year. Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the
worse. The stories you could tell would delight all. Our first station has lived
such a life. Located on the old Santa Fe Pasadena Sub, now owned by Metrolink
of California, it has seen almost everything that Santa Fe had to offer. From
the big steam engines to the fast looking red and silver diesels, the blue and
yellows and now the green and orange of the new BNSF. This station still quietly
watches the changes, making no remarks. The station was built in 1946. Originally
built by the Santa Fe Railroad, it was sold, along with the Pasadena Sub, to Metrolink.
Some interesting features of this station are the rounded edges on the West side
of the building, wall grooves, and its loading dock that once stood on the station's
east side.
