These
89 tri-level closed auto racks are TTX yellow flat cars
with brown racks have black and white lettering and run on black
Barber® bearing trucks. Some of the SP® racks rode on
company flat cars. SP® continued to use its own cars longer
than most other railroads. For the tri-level series, 854162-854320,
rebuilt in 1994, Southern Pacific® turned to the use of
Trailer-Train flat cars. Tri-level racks continued to be used
predominantly for automobiles, while the bi-level racks were
primarily used for light trucks and vans.
