The Faller
Car System is an ingenious way to add some very cool animation
to your layout. The vehicles are self-powered with a rechargable
battery on board. The steering is accomplished by a very strong
and very small magnet attached to the front wheels. This steerable
front end will follow a steel wire that you embed in your roadway
surface. The wire provided in the kit is approximately 10 meters
in length (about 30'). This vehicle follows this wire simply because
the magnet in the vehicle is attracted to the steel wire. There
is no power applied to the roadway wire. Included is a 120 volt
wall transformer (made for the US market) to recharge the battery
in the vehicle.
A roadway paste/plaster is also included
to assist you in hiding the guide wire. Any reasonably thin material should work,
so you can place the wire across a highway overpass.
Once the vehicle is charged
just place it on the roadway above the guide wire. The vehicle will happily follow
this wire until it runs out of battery power. |
