| Prototype Information |
360 EMD SD35's were sold into the US Market from 1964
to 1966. These road switchers are equipped with a 16 cylinder 2,500 horsepower
567 Diesel prime mover.
Spotting Features: The rear fans (radiator) are two
large fans with a smaller fan in the middle. Also the EMD GP/SD standard traction-motor
ventilation system visible by the raised walkway and bulge behind the cab on the
left side.
Factory Options: A model was produced for passenger service, the
SDP35. The rear hood was extended further to house a steam generator. 35 of these
units were sold. Prototype
